Turret CCTV camera

Which cameras do you install?

Quality CCTV cameras and recorders, from dome and turret cameras to full-colour cameras for night-time, with a recorder sized to your needs.

How do you plan a CCTV installation?

We start with what you need to see: entrances, tills, stock rooms, the parking area. That decides how many cameras you need and which type suits each spot: a dome or turret camera, or a full-colour camera where you need to see in colour at night.

Then we size the recorder. How long footage is kept depends on the number of cameras and the recorder's storage.

Do the cameras need a network?

Cameras and the recorder connect over your office network, and remote viewing needs an internet line. We also install office cabling, routers and business fibre, so one team does the cameras and the network.

How it works

  1. Your own sales executive

One person at Outsource Digital looks after your enquiry from the first WhatsApp to the installation.

  2. A site visit

We come to your premises to see what you have and what you need.

  3. A customised quotation

You get a quotation made for your environment, not a standard package.

  4. Choose how to pay

Pay cash, COD, or take a rental agreement over 36, 48 or 60 months. Certain products are also available month to month. We arrange the finance for you.

  5. Installation

We install the equipment and set it up.

  6. Service agreement

A separate service agreement covers on-site maintenance and remote support.

What affects the cost

  • The number of cameras.
  • Indoor or outdoor cameras.
  • How many days of recording you need to keep.
  • The term of the agreement.

Everything can be customised. We do not publish prices: WhatsApp us and we quote on your own needs.

Questions about CCTV cameras

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. Outsource Digital sets up remote viewing so you can watch live and recorded CCTV footage on your phone, from anywhere.

How long is footage kept?

How long CCTV footage is kept depends on the number of cameras and the recorder's storage. We size the recorder to the number of days you need to keep.

Is CCTV legal under POPIA?

Yes. CCTV is legal under POPIA when it is for security. You need visible signs at entrances, cameras pointed only where needed (never bathrooms or change rooms), and limited access to footage.

Do cameras work during load-shedding?

CCTV cameras work during load-shedding only with backup power. Outsource Digital can add a backup unit so recording doesn't stop.

Do you install for offices and shops?

Yes. Outsource Digital supplies and installs CCTV cameras and recorders for offices and shops across South Africa.

What does CCTV installation cost?

CCTV installation cost depends on the number of cameras, indoor or outdoor cameras, the type of camera for each spot, how many days of recording you need to keep, how far the cabling runs, and whether you add backup power. Outsource Digital does not publish prices: WhatsApp us for a quote.

Can CCTV work without Wi-Fi?

CCTV works without Wi-Fi when the cameras are wired to the recorder: they record without any wireless signal. You need an internet line only to watch the cameras remotely on your phone. Outsource Digital plans the cabling and sets up remote viewing as part of the installation, for offices and shops across South Africa.

Wired or Wi-Fi cameras: which is better?

Wired cameras are the dependable choice for an office or shop, because they do not rely on the Wi-Fi signal and connect to the recorder by cable. Wi-Fi cameras depend on a strong signal where each camera hangs. Outsource Digital plans the cabling as part of the installation, so your cameras keep recording.

Where we work

Hikvision and Dahua CCTV

Outsource Digital sells and installs CCTV cameras and recorders from Hikvision and Dahua.

Hikvision cameras and recorders

Hikvision makes network cameras in dome, turret, bullet, panoramic and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) shapes. Its ColorVu cameras are built to show full-colour pictures in very low light. Its AcuSense cameras use deep learning to tell people and vehicles from other movement, which cuts false alarms.

Footage is kept on network video recorders (NVRs), which come in several series, including models that power the cameras through the network cable. Hikvision also makes Turbo HD cameras and digital video recorders (DVRs) for sites that use coaxial cable.

Dahua also offers PTZ and pan-tilt cameras, thermal cameras, wireless cameras and full-colour cameras that keep colour pictures at night, along with explosion-proof cameras for hazardous areas.
