Card or fingerprint: who is really clocking in?
28 September 2026
An access card can be lent to anyone, so a colleague can clock in for someone who is running late. A fingerprint only works when you are standing there. That means no buddy punching, no lost cards, and you always know who came in and when.

Which one of these can you lend to a friend? Easy. This one. A card doesn't know who's holding it. Anyone can clock in with it or walk through the door with it. And yes, people do it. Clocking in for your colleague who's running late, it happens more often than you think. Now try lending this. You can't. Your finger only works when you are actually standing there. So no more buddy punching, no more lost cards, no more "sorry, I forgot my card at home". You always know who came in and when. Drop a comment if you want the setup for your office.
